I'm Jenney.
I’m not from Texas, but I got here as quickly as I could. I was born and raised in the Finger Lakes of Upstate NY. Think rural country living, complete with an annual dairy festival. I was a freshwater research scientist. I’m not joking, we can both fall asleep to my published work on carbon dioxide supersaturation in lakes. I'm considerably chatty, a little unconventional, and super kid friendly.
My family moved to Austin, TX in 2011. I'm a mother of three beautiful, quirky kids. We have homeschooled for 10+ years. Feel free to ask me anything homeschool, I'm fanatically supportive of anybody who wants to learn more. My kids are my biggest inspiration to pick up my camera. As a child I would spend hours on the floor by our family bookshelf pouring over photo albums of my parents from the 70s, and random photos from my baptism at home in a blizzard. Creating photo albums and displaying your photos will bring you and your loved ones so much joy.
I grew up in the beautiful finger lakes of upstate NY. If you haven't been, I highly suggest an early October visit. You'll never be the same after you see the painted foothills of lake and wine country. I grew up loving water. My academic degrees are in limnology and forest and resource conservation. I'm a dedicated Masters swimmer. I've been a certified lifeguard many times thoughtout my life. I teach young children to swim. Water safety is something I'm very passionate about.
Capturing your memories should not feel stressful. I am a very easy-going, flexible person. I'm not upset when your three-year-old won't smile, or when your son asks to take a photo with my camera. I love kids. Some of my favorite images are the ones I didn't mean to capture, the in-betweens. My goal is to make you feel comfortable and have fun. Authentic emotions in your photos are a natural result. I want you to not only love your photos, but look back on your experience as one that was full of laughter and connection.
