Capturing Childhood on the Fairway: A Unique Golf Photoshoot

I have a different kind of photoshoot to share with you all. For this shoot, I rode along with Bruce, as he completed the front 9 after school one day this week. With his mom as his caddy, and his own personal paparazzi, we enjoyed a beautiful afternoon of golf.

Golf, as I quickly learned, comes with its own rhythm and rules. There’s a quiet focus before each swing, an unspoken understanding of pace, and a deep respect for the game. I loved seeing how much skill and discipline it takes, even for young players. It was fascinating to document not just the sport, but the small moments in between—the thoughtful planning before a shot, the joy of a well-placed drive, and the camaraderie that comes with spending a day on the course.

This session was a perfect reminder that childhood isn’t just about the milestones we traditionally photograph—it’s also about the unique hobbies, passions, and activities that shape who our kids are. Whether it’s soccer, ballet, art, or in this case, golf, capturing these moments preserves the experiences that make their childhood special.
