A Perfect Evening for Fall Minis
I have been spending my weekend evenings photographing your beautiful families and loving every minute of it. Last week I photographed the most adorable family — a young couple and their two little girls— for a fall family photo session at Mills Pond park in Wells Branch. They were actually early (which almost never happens with little ones!). When I got their text that they had arrived, I looked down the trail and spotted the girls running around, being chased by their energetic dad and smiling mom. Their perfectly coordinated fall outfits gave them away instantly. I think the matching socks and leather shoes on the girls just made my heart flutter. I love when people focus on the details.
The girls were absolute little angels. The park was full of people enjoying the gorgeous evening, but everyone seemed to have their own pocket of space to take in the sunset. And yes — I know I post a lot of photos on this bridge, but I just can’t resist those natural arches and the way the light pours through them at golden hour.
I love photographing families at Mills Pond in Wells Branch — it’s one of those Austin-area spots that feels both peaceful and welcoming. The people there are always friendly, it’s never too crowded, and there’s plenty of open space surrounded by gorgeous views of the pond, the stone bridge, and the lush greenery. It’s centrally located and easy to park, which makes everything simple — exactly what families need for an stress-free photo session. I take a short walk with each family during our time together, which naturally allows for a variety of groupings and backdrops without feeling rushed. The movement helps everyone — especially the kids — stay relaxed and engaged. My goal is always to keep things light and easy; a stress-free family shoot is truly my gift to you.
It was such a joy to photograph this sweet family, and I hope they love their images as much as I loved capturing them. If you’re dreaming of your own fall family photo session around Austin, I still have a few openings left this season — you can find my calendar linked below!
