Spring Family Photos in Texas: Embracing Greenery & Golden Light
Spring family sessions are in full swing, and I couldn't be happier to be back capturing these special moments. This recent photoshoot was extra special because it was with a couple who had to reschedule from last year. I was thrilled they chose to return, and together, we created some truly gorgeous springtime images.
This season has come with a bit of a change. I was upfront with my clients about the unpredictable nature of Texas wildflowers, letting everyone know that I couldn't guarantee the rolling fields of bluebonnets we've photographed in years past. Despite this, so many of you enthusiastically decided to keep your sessions, opting for beautiful spring family photos instead of traditional bluebonnet mini sessions. Thank you all for your understanding and flexibility—I may not be able to control Mother Nature, but I can still promise stunning family portraits!
This particular session had me laughing the entire time. The couple was so much fun to work with, and I absolutely fell in love with the lady's dress—possibly even more than she did! I'm a sucker for a flowing white dress in the fields, and this one was perfect with its puffed sleeves and intricate bodice details, catching the breeze at sunset. When she told me she bought it on Amazon, I was in disbelief! It was simply stunning.
In the end, I have found a few small patches of bluebonnets here and there, but funny enough, they aren't the stars of this year's photos. Instead, it's your beautiful families and the lush, green landscapes that are stealing the show.
A huge thank you to all my amazing clients this spring for your willingness to pivot from your bluebonnet mini sessions and embrace the beauty that this season has to offer. Whether surrounded by wildflowers or vibrant greenery, the love and joy in your photos are what truly make them special.
