Graduation & Family Photos That Hit Me Right in the Heart

graduation, senior, Texas

I’ve known this girl since she was nine years old. Watching her grow up has been one of those quiet, beautiful privileges that comes with years of friendship and shared memories. So when her family asked me to photograph her and some updated family photos, I felt both honored and a little emotional behind the camera.

Graduation is such a beautiful milestone. It marks not just the end of school, but the beginning of something new—stepping out into the world with your own story to write. Capturing her in her cap and gown, surrounded by the people who love her most, was a joy. There’s something about photographing a senior with their family that feels full-circle—like pressing pause on a moment that’s rushing by way too fast.

Her family is the most fun. Every time we’re together, there’s a new travel story, a hilarious cat saga, or a bit of both.

It was a sweaty session, thank you Texas, and I paid dearly for skipping the bug repellent—but I wouldn’t trade the evening for anything. The images turned out beautifully, filled with light, color, and connection.

To this sweet graduate—and to every senior stepping into a new chapter—may your path be full of purpose, adventure, and joy. It’s been an honor to help capture this moment in time.
