The More the Merrier - Winter Extended Family Shoot
Over holiday break, I had the joy of photographing a large extended family here in Cedar Park, and it was such a reminder of why I love these kinds of sessions so much. There is something really special about getting everyone together at once—grandparents, grown siblings, cousins, and kids—all in one place, all in the same season of life.
One of the moms took on the heroic task of coordinating outfits for everyone (including Grandma!), and she absolutely nailed it. The colors worked beautifully together without feeling too matchy, and they photographed so well against the winter landscape. It truly embodied the more the merrier, and I loved how thoughtfully everything came together.
We met on a breezy winter morning at Brushy Creek Lake Park, found a quiet little spot, and took our time moving through all the different family groupings. From full extended family photos to individual families, sibling groups, and sweet moments with the kids, we were able to capture such a wide variety of images without feeling rushed. Winter really is an underrated season for photos—sweater weather, soft light, and fewer crowds make it perfect for relaxed sessions like this.
I absolutely love how the photos turned out—and even better, the family did too. Extended family sessions are always a treat for me, and they create images that become true heirlooms over time. If you’ve ever considered an extended family shoot or a Cedar Park family photo session with multiple households, I can’t recommend it enough.
Never miss an opportunity to capture your family in photos—especially when everyone is together. If you’re interested in a multi-family or extended family session, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to help plan something that feels easy, meaningful, and fun for everyone involved.
